Well, that's if you consider an insanely quotable screenplay so little. Nov 12, 2012 Full Review Madrid, 1987 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Rene Rodriguez Miami Herald Madrid, 1987 operates on a dizzying number of levels - as a romantic comedy, a sex farce, a study of culture clash, ageism and idealism. Audience Member Despicable ,Repulsive, ambiguous and none sense verb. A truly piece of BS, Rated 0.5/5 Stars • Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review harry r This movie is grungy. It will make your skin crawl especially with his manipulation of the young girl in the shower. This is neither romantic nor a comedy, it is an old man's attempt to get some by distorting her view of reality to get between her legs. It is nothing more than his attempt to whittle down her resolve and destroy her hopes and dreams with his hopeless portrait of reality at his age. It degrades the relationship between men and women down to his singular goal and makes everything in life a trade to get something you want. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member This is what we used to call a perfect date movie, now I guess a perfect Netflix-and-chill movie: A good film that is almost transcendent in its eroticism, but not just about sex, so your love interest may be turned on but not think that's all you want. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member El film de las pullas. Cada suceso que ocurre en ese pequeño baño tiene su significado, que estén desnudos ya dice una cosa. Pero más vale verlo, y sumergirte en las palabras de Miguel, que el guion es oro puro. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member taboo, disgusting, yet beautifully presented. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Had potential but pretentious and mostly boring.Mardrid 1987 had heaps of potential: themes like the passing on of knowledge from generation to generation, experience vs youthful innovation, formula vs originality.Yet, it just scratches the surface on these themes. Instead it is overly consumed with hearing an old guy bloviate on all kinds of meaningless, pretentious things. The only saving grace is the girl who is stunningly beautiful and tempers some of the old guy's painful speeches. Unfortunately, she doesn't come any where near to balancing it out: he has about 90% of the dialogue... A much better movie would have been where she counters every in-my-day diatribe or senseless musing with some witticism of her own.On that note, here's hoping to see Maria Velverde in many more movies. She is the only reason to watch this, ultimately. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
