KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was awarded Super Bowl LVIII MVP for his performance against the San Francisco 49ers.

Mahomes makes history as the third NFL player to win back-to-back Super Bowl MVP joining Hall of Fame quarterbacks Bart Starr and Terry Bradshaw. Mahomes has been the MVP of all three Chiefs Super Bowl wins.

In a 25-22 win that went to overtime, Mahomes threw for 333 yards on 34 for 46 passing, two touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 66 yards.

The Super Bowl win also helped the Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowls and three Super Bowls in five seasons.

The Chiefs came back from down 10-0 in the first half.

Mahomes led a game-tying drive with less than two minutes to go to send the game to overtime and led a game-winning overtime drive that ended with a three-yard TD pass to wide receiver Mecole Hardman.
